Sprite was introduced internationally by The Coca-Cola Company in 1961. However, it was launched in India in 1999. Sprite describes the flavour of its drink as ‘lymon’, a mixture of lemon and lime and this has become and remained a major and important part of the brand for many years. The name “Sprite” originated from the character named the ‘Sprite Boy’ created for Coca Cola to symbolise and reinforce the brand image of Coca Cola
